unsure how you can be both anti-copyright and pro-llm, unless you have no analysis of how power works in the american tech industry
the story from pro-slop people goes "now that the slop machine has reduced everything into indistinguishable slurry, it doesn't matter if you write your own code or just copy/paste leaked material, this is good because it brings about the death of copyright" and we can't even begin to start with how wrongheaded this is
the enforcement is not going to be symmetric. the slop companies are going to be favored. you will be held liable for violation.
like, there's really only one way for this to go under american fascism: slop company sues, e.g., some open source foundation, because the slop model's output is being used in ways the slop company doesn't like. game over.

@atax1a did you see this https://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/1064541/1a399d572a046fb9/

i remember the happier days when i thought kent was just abrasive and not actually a complete fucking idiot

the slop addicts will say anything that justifies more slop

@davidgerard we saw that and if we were the type of bitch to be suicidal it would have made us suicidal
@atax1a "nah bro u dont get it, i joined the fascist death cult because im an accelerationist" vibes
@imbl gringo accelerationism is always hyperprivileged trash
@atax1a you can drop the second word in that sentence and it's still true :p
@atax1a I'm pro- the technology, anti- who controls it and how it's currently being used.
@LunaDragofelis we're anti-the-technology because it is by-and-for the people who are currently using it and it has no other purpose or function than to obfuscate information and create fascist disinformation, fwiw
@atax1a maybe pro is overstating how I feel about the technology tbh. Probably neutral is a better term.
@atax1a even the linux kernel is pro slop now, it's sad. been trying to poke them about it but so far with no response yet https://hachyderm.io/@ell1e/116285351290767548
@ell1e "it's on the contributor to make sure they aren't violating copyright" cool, who's paying for my intellectual property laywers?
@atax1a Right, that's exactly why it bugs me. I suppose with the companies backing LF it's not surprising, but still sad.
