As I wanted to contact Matto I've added my #jabber account to my mastodon profile and installed the #cheogram Android client.
Although #deltachat ils a cool idea it doesn't seem to be used by anyone.

Yeah, my friends, family, colleagues are all on #Jabber/#XMPP, too. Which is basically, because I talked them into it 🙂

But maybe also, because it's not only good for private communication, but also for team chats and public channels, incl. bridges to IRC an Matrix.
