this basically cuts off all trans scholars from being in the U.S.

a new U.S. State Department rule stipulates that all visa applicants must disclose their “biological sex at birth” - & it will also collect passport information that it knows will not match a trans person’s biological sex at birth. this move is creating grounds to deny/strip visas & deport trans people on the basis of “fraud”

No academic conferences should be held in the USA. Not even those organized by US institutions.

Or any other global events.

Also, there is no reason to record sex on birth certificates, passports, drivers licenses or any other official documents, other than to enable this kind of bigotry.
