Primary school teacher here. I'm so over world fucking book day. Most kids barely own a book these days so why waste a day's learning to prance about in nasty, polyester princess or boy wizard costumes? Frozen is not a book and no 7 year old has read Harry Potter. Utter nonsense.
Emigrated from the UK.
Was very relieved when I saw it was world book day and I didn’t need to scramble to get a costume, or make one from scratch, for this tradition.
And my youngest IS an avid reader, making it easier than for my eldest, but he reads... non fiction. Managed to dress him as a black hole one year and a T-cell the other. It was hard.
