Update on my diet progress: it's been 11 days since I started on the keto diet. Already dropped approximately 14lbs, so I'm nearly halfway to my goal of 30lbs (might even push that out to 35, which would put me at 190lbs after).
I had a bit of mental fog the second and third day, but my body seems to have shifted into "fuck carbs, burn fat" mode pretty quickly. I don't have cravings for carbs or sugar, with the exception of beer (I miss beer, liquor is a shitty replacement). Exercise levels have remained the same for now, 2-3 weight sessions and 3 cardio sessions a week, plus walking.
The plan is to step up cardio after about a month, and get to the point where I'm doing an 45+ minutes 5 days a week minimum. Then I can start adding carbs back in, with the increased physical activity helping to keep the weight off.
Honestly I think I'm just predisposed to do well on this sort of diet. I've always craved protein and fat over sugar.
