This is absolutely awesome! The @leavex campaign now has their website up an running, so we can see exactly which members of the EU parliament still support Musk's disinformation platform X, and avoid voting for them.

I hope @leavex expands to add every national parliament — the disinformation has to end.

Se their excellent overview here:

Please boost this to support the campaign.

Understand, @randahl: I follow you, I often agree with you, and I sometimes boost what you write. You are totally wrong to say that people should vote against legislators who use X/Twitter. Twitter is worse than it was but it still has value. Mastodon refuses to let us follow each other's Lists. Because Twitter/X wisely lets us follow Twitter Lists, we can quickly find expert opinions on the latest news. News broke out in Venezuela or Iran? I can quickly find what experts there are saying.

@RonSupportsYou @randahl

But isn't it the politicians who would be able to make change in mastodon development by being here not there and organizing for change?

@drdrowland Please restate your question.
I honestly do not understand what you asked.

@RonSupportsYou

Who can best make change in how mastodon works besides the politicians who would leave Twitter and join mastodon? The software engineers aren't doing it fast enough. In the hypothetical world where they all left and joined us they would be demanding improvements and organizing the people who could implement it all

Mastodon can have list following

Anyone, @drdrowland, could be on both Twitter/X and Mastodon. Both #socialMedia platforms have their good points and their bad points. I do not think that a politician would affect Mastodon. Beyond that, nations including France and Germany have pro-Putin politicians trying to gain power. That issue should affect people's votes, not whether or not someone uses Twitter.

@RonSupportsYou

My plan doesn't work if Twitter doesn't shut down and mastodon doesn't add features

@drdrowland A plan that depends on a successful business shutting down has little or no chance of success. How can mastodon be persuaded to add features?

@RonSupportsYou

I disagree Twitter is a successful company. Twitter is successful like the us regime is successful, by that I mean it's a criminal enterprise that would fail if it's criminal leaders were in prison.

Politicians taking up space and demanding institutions build on mastodon will add the missing features

@drdrowland I think that your reply was an unrealistic hope.

@RonSupportsYou

I hear you and choose to reframe your input to "distant hope"

I'm planning for next year when criminals start getting put on prison and laws start getting made again and Twitter's reign of terror is ended
