So, about the United St—you know what, fuck this. We are in Locarno because of the camellias and we have already seen a few.

Other than camellias the parc also offers two ponds and two or three fountains.

Today we went on a walk from Someo down to Maggia. The river drains about a third of the canton’s area and almost all of it is steep mountains. On a plaque I read today that during the big flood of 1978 the water level rose by 11 m.

In the old days, people used to build houses and barns using stone, including the use of stones for the roof. These days, people renovate them and add solar panels, heating, running water and all that.

The stone houses are renovated and sometimes the material is reused.
We saw lots of Anemone nemorosa, Viola odorata, Hepatica nobilis but also some that I hadn’t seen this year, Oxalis acetocella, and one I haven’t seen before, ever, I guess: Arabidopsis halleri
