Good Morning #Canada
From the GM archives, one of my favourite posts. #HappyBirthday to Galen Clark (March 28, 1814 – March 24, 1910), the Canadian-born American conservationist and writer. He is known as the first European American to discover the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia trees and helped secure legislation to protect it and the Yosemite area. For 24 years he served as Guardian of Yosemite National Park.

Galen Clark's story is inspiring because the first half of his lifetime was filled with failure, personal tragedy and illness. A diagnosis that predicted he would be dead in 6 months prompted his journey to California, where he thrived for almost 5 decades and finally found his purpose.
