a few weeks back one of you, when I tooted praise about A1 Bakery in #Brunswick, recommended I’d try Tiba’s - I’m sorry I forgot who it was. I did try Tiba’s tonight, and I’d like to say: THANK YOU!!!! and also what other places do you recommend? 😃 #Melbourne
found the toots - it was @ThermiteBeGiants who recommended Tiba’s to me; THANK YOU!!! amazing place, went there tonight with foodie friends, and it was very well worth the risk of bringing them to a place I hadn’t tried yet myself, absolutely excellent food 😋
@slevelt welcome to the Tiba’s Appreciation Society!
@slevelt Balhas cakes a bit further up the road from A1. And probably Alasya as well, a bit down the road. We used to get food from there all the time, haven’t been in aaaaaaaages though.

@slevelt Al Alamy and Half Moon in Coburg.

If you want to go further afield, Chercher in Footscray, and Morrocan Soup Bar, and much further afield, the Indian food truck park at Craigieburn station.

@slevelt it wasn't me who suggested Tiba's, but I love it too.
@keira_reckons thanks! I’ve had Ethiopian in Footscray, but at Ras Dashen, which was great - but will love to try Chercher sometime, too. And I’ve seen the food trucks at Craigieburn (when on my way to check up on our cat who was in quarantine in Mickleham and wouldn’t let herself be handled for check ups 😼) but they were unfortunately closed - looked fantastic though!
@slevelt I haven't tried Ras Dashen yet. The food trucks only open from 5pm, but they are really are good. Be prepared for intense spice though.
@keira_reckons @slevelt Another vote for Half Moon from me!
@slevelt Shamiat Syrian restaurant in Northcote. Fantastic food and the owner is a lovely man
@philip @slevelt oooh, that’s something I’ll need to check out! Their menu looks good
