@JanPV Has there been any mining in this area? Since it cuts a tidy slice across the exposed stone material I wonder if it's a more recent attempt to sample or find something in that specific vein of stone.
@coreysnipes I went to have a look in person this afternoon. The drone view is very deceptive in that the trench is quite steep. It turned out to be an exploratory trench, possibly for manganese.
