"Your #NoKings marches are cute, but nothing is going to change until we do something serious, like a general strike."

Nonviolent resistance movements have historically become more likely to bring about change when a critical mass of the population (thought to be around 3.5%) gets involved. Are mass protests on a few Saturday a year "involved" enough to bring change about? Probably not. But it's a way in. It's building the muscle. You have to get someone to show up one day before you can get them to show up often, or every day, or for the long haul.

@maxleibman

No one type of protest or resistance is "the way".

Change comes when it all becomes a bit much for the enemy. Too much mail, too many people on the streets, too many lawyers, too much bad press, too many strikes, etc.

From experience I agree that No Kings is not regular enough. It feels like controlled opposition now. They should move to monthly and then to weekly, and they should have been there for a while. The people will come.
