Raising prices for car fuel aren’t fun, but they are a signal that you should buy less of it, not that the government should throw more tax money against it to fund this lifestyle, there are more important things the government has to fund.

It’s weird that I have to write things about conscious government spending as a PRO voter

However, going by public transport with two people and two childern (free) to the city center is still more expensive than, going by car including parking fee.. Indeed something has to be done, but do it now please otherwise a lot and thereby I mean a lot of people are going to have serieus problems
@svenuleman.bsky.social with the current state of affairs, I am afraid a fun shopping trip by car is impossible near the end of April.
@smveerman if only we had policies in favor of Public transportation instead of individual Cars for the last 30 years
@gduchaussois at least in the Netherlands there has been quite some investment in public transportation until about 15 years ago, at that time it was put on a money saving parcours and somehow we lost the progress we made, which got even worse during the pandemic.
@smveerman it seems the situation is very different from one place to another even in the same country. Here in France people in big cities complaining about gas price are victims of their choices, in the other part they are victims of political decisions (a bit guilty for their vote still)
@smveerman I’m laughing about the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It was set up so the military could still fight a war if the oil industry was disrupted, but in practice it’s used to keep voters from getting mad at the government.
