@kde I gotta be honest, this is the first time in my life I've seen "microphone" abbreviated as "mike" and maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker, I find it incredibly confusing.

It’s pronounced that way, sure. “But it’s confusing”. Yeah. That’s English. Next??

@colinstu English's like a Roguelike. Easy to understand, hard to master and it keeps changing the rules !

@colinstu @memoriesin8bit @kde I've most often seen (and used) "mic" used as the noun, and "mike" as the verb.

The latter is probably because "mic" is a perfectly sensible truncation that works neatly as an abbreviation, but it's just weird to write about "micing up the drum-kit." That reads more like you did something to the toms involving mice.
