Jasper gets the special meal, he's got IBS and only he gets soft food, pre-mixed. He sits at his dish when I go for coffee. I mix it on the second coffee. My stomach can't handle cat food right away, the odor is overwhelming

I agree on strong smells. It seems the "worse" the smell the more our animal friends like it (except for skunk spray?).
