The Instacart logo is an arrow pointing to a map location marker.

Which visually implies a carrot.

This is extremely clever to me.

@hotdogsladies my buddy was VP of design there for ages. I’ll let him know you appreciate.

@jsatk

I feel like I'm the only person who *got* the original (more location marker-y) version.

Full marks!

@hotdogsladies Very cool. Somebody had their mind blown by the FedEx arrow in design school and never forgot.
@hotdogsladies (And to be clear that’s not snark. I’ve never noticed the Instacart double entendre until you pointed it out here. I just thought it was a carrot.)
@hotdogsladies I was today years old when I learned this

@mathowie @hotdogsladies There’s somebody born everyday that has not seen the FedEx arrow.

Staples. It the place where you get the staples for you business, like paper, pens, and even… staples.

Nearly daily I encounter obvious references that I’ve missed for years. And I’m supposed to be a graphic designer!

@hotdogsladies Been overseas since 2010. Until right now, I assumed Instacart was what Americans use to buy things from Instagram. Would not have realized it was a different company.

Makes me curious about Nikecart….
