I’ll be hiking three days in Owen Sound at the start of May. That will be my first multi-day hike while living in Ontario.
It’ll be a hotel stay. The last time I was in Owen Sound, it was for a conference, and I went camping to save a couple of bucks, but I was the only one in the campground. I tethered my phone’s Internet to my laptop, and cops making the rounds teased me, asking me if I was roughing it.
I don’t remember much about the conference, but I do remember the field trip to do a short hike that took us on the Niagara Escarpment, a geological feature I had studied as part of a human geography course in university. What a feeling to stand on something I had only ever read about.
If you live in Ontario, I think you should be legally obligated to know at least one fact about the Niagara Escarpment. Here, Ontarians, go to the Wikipedia page and memorize at least one fact about the Niagara Escarpment
