Additional plan for Saturday: A “writers’ retreat” at St. Lawrence Market. It has been a very long time since I’ve written…anything, really.

Can…can I have this regimented a schedule for my work and personal lives?

I'm currently reading Frank Herbert's "Dune" for the first time.

I was struck by this passage. It comes right after the Reverend Mother has tested Paul Atreides. She is talking with him.

"𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺."

How apropos seventy years later.

@sillygwailo Spring cleaning and spring sleeping
I was wrong a bunch at work today, but that’s OK, because I ran out of my quota for being wrong today, and I have the whole evening ahead of me.
I have a swimming lesson tonight, also a lot of cooking to catch up on over the weekend. Maybe I’ll even throw experiencing boredom into the mix.
@sillygwailo cabaret in Toronto, overnight stay, then back to do chores around the apartment

My plans for this long weekend include

Thursday night

• Beer and snacks while the Swanguardians keep me updated on our beloved TSS Rovers in the group chat

Friday

• AquaFit followed by coffee with whoever is joining from that crew
• Probably LOFNOTC otherwise

Saturday

• Mindful Miles (if I wake up early enough)

Sunday

• Not reading at the library, as it will be closed
• Easter Sunday dinner (Japanese food somewhere on St. Clair) with my half-sister’s half-brother’s mother (and family?)

What are you up to this long weekend (assuming you have a long weekend)?
I just heard the phrase “consumption toil” (in the context of there being a lot of training videos for us to watch at work) for the first time, and that’s how I often feel about consumption in general.
