3 killed in tour company helicopter crash on Kauai's Na Pali Coast
A sightseeing company's helicopter has crashed near a remote beach off the coast of the Hawaiian island of Kauai, killing three people and injuring two others. Kauai officials say the crash happened Thursday afternoon at Kalalau Beach on the Na Pali Coast. The Kauai Fire Department says the helicopter carried one pilot and four passengers. Police say three people died at the scene. Officials transported two survivors to Wilcox Medical Center for treatment. Authorities identified the operator as Airborne Aviation. The company said it is cooperating with federal investigators. Helicopter tours are a common way to see the Na Pali Coast’s cliffs, beaches and waterfalls.
