Gearing up for a wandering scooter ride. Not sure where I will go! The wandering typology is my jam #scooter #weekend
I have never gone to Hobart on my scooter - about 200km on a 125cc motorcycle πŸ‘€ feels risky! Top speed 90km/h on Highway 1 🀣🀣🀣 not today πŸ›΅ #scooter #weekend
@SeaFury It's a pretty boring trip too, if you go on the main highway. Bro who lives in Hobart calls it going 'up the guts', lol.
@sister_ratched @SeaFury I've never driven Hobart to Launceston, so I don't know if its boring.
I'm putting in a claim here for the Canberra to Adelaide trip being the most boring in Australia, although the train across the Nullarbor to Perth has to be a close second. But at least on the train you don't have to drive and pay attention.
@CaraBruar I can imagine how long and boring that stretch would be! @sister_ratched
@CaraBruar @SeaFury Oh I dunno, the Hay Plains are pretty spectacular. And there's plenty to do and see in the towns along the way. Once did the Hay strip at sunset and it was unforgettable.
@sister_ratched @SeaFury the towns are interesting but if you are trying to get to Adelaide in time for whatever reason there's no time. You just have to drive and drive. And then you cross the river into the mallee, and it goes on and on and on.
@CaraBruar @SeaFury Yes, pretty dull if you're in a hurry.
@sister_ratched @SeaFury also it was usually December or January so getting out of the car was like jumping into a furnace. For a couple of years after the 1970s oil shock we had a fuel efficient small car with no air conditioning. Nasty.
@CaraBruar @SeaFury Yes, I remember doing it on my own once, in summer, without aircon. Hideous.
@sister_ratched @SeaFury you just melt into the car seat, become one with it.
@CaraBruar @SeaFury And the hot winds from hell across your face...πŸ₯΅
@sister_ratched @SeaFury yes. And the sun shining directly into your eyes all day pretty much because you are travelling west. Coming home the opposite direction was always much easier.
@sister_ratched @SeaFury the trip used to take us 14 hours of driving all up. Now we have moved to the Riverina it's only 12 hours but we are older now and get tired faster.
