Leaving work at 11pm. Started at 0900.

Things are quite 90% ready. I'll be back in tomorrow at 0800 to finish

All in all, I think I reacted very calmly when I found out that the people installing my new show cases have made them HERMETICALLY SEALED UNITS that have to be taken apart for be to change, dust, conserve or y'know straighten out the exhibits.

Nope. If someone trips and knocks something over in a case, it's like that forever.

(They're fixing it)

@DarkSheepArts All the yikes, with a side of 'aha, not just me then': the struggle to get people who build stuff for exhibitions to think - just a little bit, just once, at all even - about how that stuff is supposed to be maintained over time, is very real, not that you need me to tell you that. Stuff seems to get built on the apparent assumption that it only needs to last a weekend, and then some poor sod (hi!) has to maintain it for up to a decade or more. Anyway, good luck, all best w/ it.
@conniptions
Cheers mate. I was really tight on everything else (every time they suggested a feature I asked how we'd get in to clean it or rotate the exhibits) but for some reason, despite my asking that for the other 20 things they were building for us, because I hadn't specifically mentioned it, I was okay with that exhibits being entombed the the mosquito in Jurassic Park.
@DarkSheepArts Yes, sounds very familiar :(
