@Yehuda I really appreciate the detailed history and points about archaeology and language. The Bible is so embedded into the modern collective conscious that it's way too easy to take for granted the biblical narrative of the region (and its people) at face-value, even those of us who don't belong to Abrahamic traditions. Its profoundly sad seeing the existence of human beings treated as a zero-sum game across the political spectrum.
