Trying to understand something about this age attestation (NOT verification) thing. Why do I need to have this on my Linux system when I don't live in California, Colorado, Brazil or whatever ass backwards place is demanding this crap?

I'm in Canada and so far our government hasn't demanded this waste of time requirement. Until that time comes can I install without it?
