CopterDoctorI bet AC-130 gunships will be circling over the straight of Hormuz to destroy any of the Iranian fast boats laying mines, or unmanned ships approaching international shipping. They can refuel in flight to provide loitering capabilities for the slow moving oil tankers. They can provide air cover for ground invasion of Kharg Island. Trump will use them.
A_MinionI'm not so sure Puff would be functional in this kind of operation. Yeah Puff is well armed but has to fly low enough & slow enough to lay down it's pattern of fire, which makes it a good target for most any "rocket" with sufficient range/accuracy. I realize the new Puff has some bigger guns but it is still a C-130 as it's basic platform. Interesting . . . .
