Picture of me taken with Mabel earlier this week. I spend 90% of my life laying down due to my poor health, sitting in my wheelchair is a victory and is often used to attend medical appointments. However once a week I do take photos of my local area, western Dartmoor. It’s my defiance against my illness, I know I’m going to be in pain and I do it anyway. I’m not a hero or a worthy cause, just someone who’s unlucky. If you’re able bodied I don’t live in your world, (1 ) #photography
I can’t very often shop in person, the last time I went to a city was 13 years ago. I’m an observer, as many disabled people are. I’m sorry if sometimes I’m snippy about your wide open lives or if I answer sharply when I’m asked if I’ve walked that walk even though they can see my wheelchair. But thanks for following along for liking and appreciating. #Dartmoor #Devon #disability #photography
@Rachelburch Your photos are always much appreciated here!

@Rachelburch
Your photos and posts are always a delight, and a gentle reminder to my late mom whom just like you refused to let her health dictate her life.

So, if I may, I would like to thank you for sharing your photos and stories 🩵 They are appreciated.

She was wheelchair bound for several years as well, and I had to push her around when shopping or when going anywhere. I have seen firsthand how inaccessible life can be to someone in a wheelchair. Let alone bed bound.

@Rachelburch
So in my opinion, you do not need to apologize

Being in your situation, and someone being insensitive towards you, or dismissive, well, I think a snippy remark is warranted if not outright justified.

Thank you for reading all this. And thank you for sharing your moments with us.

@Rachelburch I really enjoy your photos, specially since I know what that terrain can be like. You have my admiration.
@Rachelburch Love your photos, and your caring sharing. 💛
@Rachelburch as a fellow mostly bed bound persoon I’m always so happy to see your pictures, thank you for spending your energy to take us along!
@Rachelburch I'm in Australia but have fond memories of a holiday in Cornwall and Dartmoor, so love all your photos. Thank you!
@Rachelburch beautiful photos! Really beautiful!
@Rachelburch Thank you, your pictures always bring me calm and joy.

@Rachelburch I enjoy that you share your photography and experience with the world like you do. I think you enrich the world and me by what you post. Only you can post these things, and that makes them irreplaceable.

By the way, the gnarled mossy branches especially has such ambiance. It makes me think of the natural balance and the timelessness of nature.

@Rachelburch beautiful feline bodyguard

@Rachelburch

I enjoy every of your marvellous photographs and I often ask me how to get there with a wheelchair. But you show what is possible! Best wishes and hopefully a lot of more of your phantastic pictures of Dartmoor.

@Rachelburch @RachelBurch beautiful photos, especially the "Fibonacci" Trees 😉

@Rachelburch

Thank you for all the wonderful photos, and all the effort put into them.
