people talk lots about self care but they dont often talk about violently seizing time to do self care via forming unions and chopping motherfuckin heads off, so now we have people yelling at us to do self care but no actual time to do self care in, and it ends up being more stressful because you're getting blamed for not self caring
@briellebouquet c'monnn, self care is easy if you got time, money, and the mental bandwidth to do more than desperately try to keep your head above the water

@Chel i remember my bosses at a pub i worked at ages ago talking about how hard they worked and it made me fucking visibly smirk because they took weeks off just. here and there. casually. multiple concurrent weeks in the summers.

so yeah. if you have money and property and subjugates who do all the actual work that keeps filling your accounts whether you're there or not, then you absolutely can easily do self care

but what kind of asshole actually has those things lol

@briellebouquet shit like that makes me want to scream.

oh yes. such hard work. massive labor. grueling.

i wish this shit wasn't. so. damn. common.

@briellebouquet @Chel the sort of people who have time to write thinkpieces about self care, and the influence to get them published in venues that are widely read
@briellebouquet @Chel i think a lot about the fact that so many things that are treated as completely normal every day things everyone does (in mainstream media depictions), are actually just rich privileged white people things
@bri7 @briellebouquet don't you just *love* it?
