I was picking through my To Comment tag on #AO3 and picked out a fic to read that hasn't been updated in a couple years.
Commented until I got to the last chapter, which was a note about cancer treatment. The comments below confirmed the author had passed. (1/2)
The gut punch made me wish I'd commented sooner, but also made me grateful for the archive preserving the work.
I usually like leaving comments years later for authors like a surprise, but in this case it was too late.
