I’ve now been on hold for more than ten minutes. So perhaps I could revisit being concerned that it would take too long for the system to alert me someone was there and for me then to pick up.

Pretty sure their hold message hasn't been updated in years. I suppose it is possible that they all wear masks and “use gloves, when appropriate." Further, it is possible that they also want all their patients to wear masks. My guess is this hold message is from years ago, however.

They're describing their extensive disinfectant processes, etc. Which, I mean great... I'm a big fan. Just thinking this is a super outdated hold message. I also could ask about a free Lasic (sp?) examination, or focal implant, or... all sorts of things they want to advertise to me, as I continue to wait. We are at over 13 minutes now.

Thinking I should probably hang up. They probably forgot about me. "We value the personal relationships we build with each of our patients.”

Yeah. I hung up and called back after 15 minutes. “That must have been someone else," was the reply, after I mentioned that I had been waiting.

I made an appointment. Given that I don't know off the top of my head other doctors w/ this specialty. Not to mention, hard to say the correlation between front office quality and care quality.

She said, “We'll send you the information about the appointment with the paperwork."

Umm... I asked how that would work....

Her answer, “We use a third-party system for that. But if you want, you can give me your email and I can also send it to you."

I'm succumbing to this not going well. But I just don't have the energy to try somewhere else.

Now I've got to go find the quote that talks about how important imagination is so that we can build the kind of futures that we want. Because this ain't it.
