Did you know that bionic limbs are mostly made for men's bodies and when they do come in women's sizes they are not being funded by healthcare services? TIL.

Sadly it is generally so for a lot more in medicine and medical care, where the balance is way to tilted to mens problems in regards to both research and development of treatments.

For bionic limbs specifically, a reason - but not an excuse - is probably war and crime though. Where for both men are over represented both as cause and consequence.

@tsvenson @Gina Yes, this. Medicine is about money. And more men than women probably lose hands due to either combat or industrial accident.

There was a similar problem where most crash dummies were male. Child size dummies and pregnancy were not accounted for in crash testing.
