Lawyers criticise ‘extreme’ arrest of Isaac Herzog protester after NSW police release video

"Lawyers have raised concerns that New South Wales police used heavy-handed tactics when arresting an anti-Isaac Herzog protester this week, after eight tactical officers were sent to their home at 5am and “smashed the door open”.

The 42-year-old was the 26th person to be charged after the protest at Sydney town hall in February against the visiting Israeli president. The police response on the night of the protest is being investigated amid allegations of police brutality."

Lawyers criticise ‘extreme’ arrest of Isaac Herzog protester after NSW police release video

@CanvasesByPeter NSW might have made a tactical mistake here by not dropping the charges. The lawyers for the protesters will have a clear platform to ventilate issues that the NSW govt/PF will likely not want to be in the public eye. The court is a more neutral territory than a protest in terms of controlled visibility.

Or maybe the govt/PF feel like they've cornered themselves into a position where they can't drop the charges.

@crouton True, we'll have to see what happens.. I haven't heard a single whisper about the injuries the protestors sustained by police brutality (including a broken spine) since it happened, it was all hushed-up immediately after by the gov & media.
