The Commissioner deserves to be rationed, hard, for this blatantly transparent attempt to justify privacy breaching surveillance technology with the tired and failed "but think of the children" argument.

"Keeping children safe online" is a very good goal.

The biggest (and studies support this!) thing for child-safety is that the kids get to decide what they want to see.

Alas, "people getting what they want" works very badly in an industry that sees adblockers as their #1 enemy.

Keeping children safe everywhere is indeed a worthy goal. And just like bombing hospitals isn't a way to achieve that, neither is forcing consumers to give their identity documents to notorious data abusers.
