There's nothing like the death of a loved one as a reminder to make the most of life. I decided when I was a teenager that I wouldn't have any regrets when my time came, and I've followed that principle ever since. This recent death reinforces my life philosophy.
@CatherineBabault I had some of these exact thoughts at a funeral I attended recently - it's good to make the most of life, you never know when it will end. I hope to have another 10-20 years, but, who knows? I *do* have regrets, but, as with guilt, I note and remember them, but I do not let them consume joy, time, or energy. They are reminders to prevent future regrets, future missed opportunities.
@aktbar Well said. :)
