Intercom has launched Fin Apex 1.0, a custom AI model that the company claims outperforms GPT-5.4 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 on customer service tasks. The model handles 2 million conversations weekly and achieves a 73.1% resolution rate, roughly 2 percentage points higher than leading frontier models. Intercom says the model runs at one-fifth the cost of using frontier models directly and is included in existing pricing at /bin/bash.99 per resolved interaction.
