@sans_serif_girl Yes, when I got to the last pages, I was like: OK there's only a few paragraphs to go, how's this going to end?
Then I guessed what would happen, but it only made me more intrigued by what she saw.
Her writing is clever and sometimes subtle and it just stays with you.
@lydiaconwell that’s exactly it! I always say the same thing: her writing really stays with you! years on, I still think about The house on the strand or The Scapegoat (or actually pretty much everything – she’s my favourite author, and I’ve read almost everything she’s written).
