It is probably going to cost me some #followers while I don't even have many..

From Barilla (now they’ve changed position) to Chick-fil-A, HBO and now the Olympics, I’ve seen and heard way too many people saying that they are going to boycott them. But honestly, have you and/or are you really going to stop subscribing to HBO or watching the Olympics?

I have no solutions or advice for what's happening. But I feel the pressure and the tension growing as you do..

@jboeckli I hadn't heard that Barilla had walked back its founder's anti-gay remarks. I've not bought Barilla products since then. Might not change that stance until they get out of Russia, though.

Never been to a hate chicken place, and no plans to start going there. We had one inside our student center for a couple of years when I first got to this campus. Now they're across the street (and, sadly, busy) - but they get not a dime of mine.

Haven't been an HBO subscriber in decades, so I don't miss anything there.

Not sure about the Olympics thing. I barely watched anything from Milan this year, and I'm very picky about what I watch during the summer games as well. Unless they're held in the U.S. the broadcast schedules are usually such that it's a hassle to watch anything except whatever the major networks here choose to carry - and I loathe their jingoistic coverage and wall-to-wall fluff pieces anyway. So maybe it's OK for me to stop watching Olympics coverage until they come to their senses again. Given that it's apparently getting harder and harder to get cities to apply to host the games, maybe it's a movement whose sell-by date is rapidly approaching and it will just go away quietly on its own.

@JTinMI Like you, we haven’t bought Barilla products ever since. It wasn’t difficult mainly because there’s plenty of other options.

We’ve never been to that fast food chain and certainly won’t after knowing their stand on LGBTQ issues.

What triggered me to post this was knowing that too many people were just saying things but didn’t actually do what they said. Talking is cheap and it means nothing if we don’t actually do something.

@jboeckli I already don't subscribe to HBO and don't watch the Olympics, so I don't know if boycotting counts as easy or hard for me.
