I don't trust people who don't like cats.

(Before I get a lot of arguments here, not liking cats is not the same as avoiding them because you're allergic).

I don't trust people who don't like cats because the reason almost always boils down to some variation of cats not being obedient and unfailingly fawning. It feels like a personality litmus test if your requirement for enjoying a creature is that it must always obey you and adore you.

(And before I get a lot of other arguments, being neutral on cats is not the same as not liking cats. I specifically mean people who say, "I don't like cats")

@MLE_online Offering up an argument you didn't already mention 😂. I have been convinced by my many scientist/naturalist friends that cats are about the worst pet a person can help proliferate, as they're objectively linked to some serious biodiversity destruction.
But my own cats hunt outside regularly; they hate giant collars & bells, and remove them without hesitation.
My cats observing our chicks, for your entertainment. They kill all kinds of things, but love me & would NEVER eat my chicks.

@emilyvanartist I know cats are bad for birds, but my cats never kill birds. They only ever catch rats and bugs.

@MLE_online Mine, sadly, kill birds. And every rodent, moth, butterfly and lizard that they can get their claws into. 😐
In fact, our daughter's dog used to have those speaking buttons, but of course had no button for "bird". So when the cats brought a bird in and released it into the house, the dog proudly used her buttons to announce: "food toy". How embarrassing!!!
