How did I get the gift of such beautiful children?!! I love my daughter's Etsy shop so much. Her business of curating, cleaning, reviewing and repackaging good children's books emphasizes diversity, kindness & sustainability. Such a beautiful thing she's doing for the world! She has all her reviews up on Goodreads & on her website. It's too bad she has to use Goodreads, but at least she's adding another voice for ethical, thoughtful reading. 🧡

Do You Illustrate with AI? – Emily van Lidth de Jeude

...and this is the actual study, if you're interested: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2506.08872
Wanted to also point out that this is illustrated with AI. As an artist, I am deeply concerned, not so much with the taking away of potential work for artists, but with AI's takeover of our expectations; of the way we see illustration and art. The way we SEE, in general. This article very ironically is part of the problem.

Brain Connectivity Declines with AI Use
EEG scans revealed a systematic scaling down of neural connectivity in the brain with increasing reliance on external tools:

LLM use resulted in under-engagement of critical attention and visual processing networks, especially in Session 4 when participants tried to write without AI.

My favourite sandwich season! This one includes cream cheese, bittercress, nipplewort, miner's lettuce, chickweed, and young chives.
I just sent out my wild food, regenerative farming, and art workshops list for this season. If you'd like to be on the mailing list, let me know.

They're growing up so fast and they're living outside now but they still run up my back to perch on my shoulder when I come to see them!

I inherited my father in law's excellent dissecting microscope and am enjoying it with abandon!! Voici a view of the surface of one of my seedling pots, complete with a springtail busily going about his important work, eating up (processing) the rotten bits to turn into plant nutrients! Thank you Sir Springtail!!
A happy reminder of the diversity that makes our lives possible.
