I feared this day was coming — this is the first site I see closing down, because Google has stolen their content.
The owners of this cycling inspiration site asks: What is the reason to continue creating content, when Google just steals it and serves it as AI answers to keep all the traffic to itself?

Working on these three thrushes (top is a Varied thrush and bottom two are Swainson's thrushes). The window is salvaged from our local community hall, that recently upgraded some windows. My mother taught preschool in that building for many years, and these are some of her favourite birds. She died last year, and the old shed came down. We're building a new one now, and this window is my way of keeping her memory alive, in the new building on her property.

Every time I decide to *just pick up* some kind of veggie from the store, now, I am grateful we have learned to feed ourselves. When we started this garden, five years ago, we calculated we saved about $400 in groceries, after deducting the cost of starting the garden, and while feeding four people. This year it would be a couple of thousand, at least, and we're only feeding two. This bunch of cabbage alone saved me about $32. This is #resilience ! Grow food!

Just got freshly-harvested oats from our local farm! We love them rolled for our cereal, and milled in my gluten-free baking. (Quince oat muffins, today!) Enormous thanks to Cedar Isle Farm for the oats that keep us fed and happy. We love knowing where our food comes from, and being able to support our local farmers. 🧡

Sitting with my little superhero, the Splash, today, as he's worked his butt off caring for his flock all his life, & it seems that life may be coming to an end. Not many of our chickens are personable with us. He's the only one who ever wanted snuggles. He's a fierce fighter when he needs to be--he once fought off a vicious big hawk, and also his nemesis Lester--but he also babysits the chicks, feeds his hens treats, & falls asleep in my arms when I pick him up.
