As for Filtr pricing, it seems the consensus is that a subscription is good as long as there’s a one-time purchase alternative, so I think I’ll go for that!
@mipstian Be careful of setting your lifetime purchase price too low. I listened to a lot about it on @atpfm. I want to see you succeed and Wipr stick around for the foreseeable future.
@ddlevine @atpfm I’ve heard a lot of wildly different suggestions since yesterday 😅 what’s low?
@mipstian @ddlevine @atpfm I guess a lifetime price shouldn’t be less than 3 years of subscription
@CyberSaloperie @ddlevine @atpfm yeah even I was going for 5-6x, but some users suggested 10 or 12 which threw me off

@mipstian @CyberSaloperie @ddlevine Honestly, I don't think there's any need for an app that needs continuous updates to have a one-time-purchase option.

It's unreasonable to expect that a developer will invest continuous work, forever, for no additional money.

Enough people will subscribe for ongoing value. You don't need to sell yourself short to please the handful who won’t.

@marcoarment @CyberSaloperie @ddlevine I don’t even think I would be selling myself short tbh, I might be dead in 6 years for all I know 😅 Or we might not have iPhones anymore. There’s definitely still gonna be ads tho
@mipstian @marcoarment @CyberSaloperie @ddlevine maybe worth deciding how long you want to support this version of the app and setting a one-time purchase that way? Like customers can expect ?-number of years, but when Wipr 3 is released then they'll have to purchase the new version if they want updates. And doesn't necessarily need to be a better value than if they had done a yearly subscription...
@YourPalMichael @marcoarment @CyberSaloperie @ddlevine I think two Wiprs was enough for a lifetime 🫠
