When I saw it (Picture 1), I thought it was a swimming crane, but no: It's a rolling crane aboard a ship (Picture 2).

I don't know why, but I definitely have a thing for big machines.

This is actually a small one. This canal is rather shallow (about 2-3 metres).

But I definitely share your passion.
