The turbines are ruining the natural beauty of the giant hole
@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social To be fair nobody ever sees the hole unless they actively go looking for it with a drone. Still, I like the look of the turbines.
@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social Images like this are disingenuous. Wind turbines won't stop those holes in the ground from being dug. And these holes aren't as numerous or as visible as wind turbines.
@CStamp @funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social It is disingenous to say that wind turbines are ugly while ignoring the ugliness of coal plants, lignite extractions, nuclear power plants...

@art_histories @funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social It can all be true.

But I've seen that image going around a lot. A pit mine is not a turbine farm. Argue about relevant points instead of comparing apples to oranges.

@CStamp @funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social Whatever, I won't argue as I don't have the time right now. But imagine how ugly climate change will be. And wind turbines are not that bad.
@art_histories @funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social My comment was with that image and comparing turbines to pit mines.
@CStamp We can compare the aesthetics of any two physical objects. And, in this case, their total lifetime power generation, cost (TCO), externalities,, and environmental impact, if you find aesthetics too subjective.
@art_histories @funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social
@CStamp @art_histories @funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social Thing is, Iโ€™ve never come across such a hole, but Iโ€™ve seen 1000s of wind power plants. So the argument is weak, yet I like the looks of those windy thingys.
@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social Just imagine how beautiful this hole would be if there had been some fracking!
@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social the fact they had to cirle them says enough....
@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social oh look, a strip mine...they're kind of unmistakable โ˜น

They destroy the beauty of our majestic strip mined mountain tops!

@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social

@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social Waiting for the first person to comment that these turbines should really have been build down in that hole ... ๐Ÿ˜‰

@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social Well, we have a giant hole in the White House, so...
@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social it perfectly describes the peoples distorted perception.

@funnysnarkyjoke.bsky.social

How do people feel about the red circle?

Seems more obnoxious, at least in this case.
