New! Heckle is a brush script typeface for display use. It started as a tiny sketch for a t-shirt design in 2005, based on my memories of script lettering from the '40s and '50s.

@marksimonson I love it, Mark. There’s something so simply satisfying about it that you could create a sign for a small business incredibly fast using this face. …and I would actually love the “Heh” tee had I grabbed it in time. Omg, cafepress.
@Luke Thanks! We’re thinking about reissuing the shirt
@marksimonson okay, great, heh. Black over golden yellow?I might need a decal, too.
@Luke The original design was yellow with a heavy black outline on a white T, FWIW
@marksimonson I’d rock that, as they used to say.
@marksimonson the different weights is cool, I feel like with these type of fonts you often only get a single weight to work with.
@chris Originally, it was going to be only one weight (somewhere between Extrabold and Black), but I feel the same way
@marksimonson Wow, this looks lovely, Mark! And so interesting to see the adjustments you made from your original sketches. 🙌
@jasonsantamaria Thanks! I've learned a lot about drawing scripts since 2005
@marksimonson Wild what 20 years can do 😂
@marksimonson Is there any significance to the date September 16, 1959? Sep. 16th (1982) is my birthday!
@onpaperwings What a coincidence—it's my wife's birthday!
@marksimonson This face makes me happy. A big brush script dopamine hit.
