Today is the simultaneous release of Krita 5.3.0 and Krita 6.0.0!
Depending which version of Qt and KDE Frameworks you build, the same source will result in one of the other. Both versions are almost functionally identical, with 6.0.0 having more Wayland functionality.
Same! Especially since the one recording the demonstration was none other than the creator of Pepper and Carrot. He must be sighing in relief now that lettering his comics will be much more of a breeze.
I was confused on why would you release both a minor and major version at the same time, if it wasn't a security upgrade. Then I checked the blog and found that Krita 6 is based on Qt 6, with Krita 5.3 being effectively identical but still based on Qt 5.
@Krita Oh thank goodness you release AppImages! I couldn't get Krita to compile for the life of me on Gentoo; this means I can still use it and I am SO HAPPY!
