"Consumer boycotts won't bring down a capitalist system."

Yes, and? I'm as anti-capitalist as anyone, but I also believe in not funding evil as much as possible whilst the system exists. "But it won't bring down capitalism" isn't an excuse for supporting genocide.

All I see when someone says this is "I want to give my money to big corporations and bigots who are hurting people without being judged for it." Cool. Do you. But refusing to give money to exploitative corporations as much as possible is way more anti-capitalist than the alternative.
@theleftistlawyer I don’t remember who said “We don’t fight fascists because we know we’ll win. We fight fascists because they’re fascists.” It’s about doing the right thing regardless, not a guarantee of victory.

In #capitalism, your reciept is your vote: EVERY SINGLE TIME !

@theleftistlawyer Consumer Boycotts are an essential element of bringing down capitalism. Not buying stuff eventually leads to mutual aid and systemic decoupling. It's the other half of the General Strike.

@theleftistlawyer there are also different flavors of capitalism. The premise that capitalism cannot be brought down doesn’t mean we should fully embrace free market ancap mentality and plunge into cyberpunk-like hellscape headfirst. It is possible to direct capitalism into a more pro-social form by voting both by ballot and by wallet.
