MurseSeems a lot of the right wing “dog whistles” are more of an air raid siren. They don’t need to be subtle - a horrifying number of people build their whole identity around things like racism and religious superiority. The louder the whistle, the more support they drum up from those evil shits.
There are no Dog Whistles any more. That was when being a treasonous racist pedophile was something you weren’t proud of and wasn’t socially acceptable, so you had to communicate with your douchebag buddies under the radar.
MAGA Has given them permission to let their Traitor flag fly, and they are too stupid to understand that this won’t last forever, and the punishment will be a bitch, so they are demonstrating to the world just how ugly they are. They’re typically used in real life situations, for example, when trying to figure out whether their coworkers are like-minded. Once they know they can get away with it, though … I have a few coworkers that will talk right-wing talking points practically non-stop. Another coworker and I have considered reporting them to HR, but all that would do is put a target on our backs; or at best, get them to silently hold a grudge against us. And it takes a lot more than office drama to get fired where I work.
