hi! i want to test a hypothesis.

do you identify as human or nonhuman [therian, otherkin, etc]; and, are you transgender?

please consider boosting for a larger sample size.

human, transgender
human, cisgender
nonhuman, transgender
nonhuman, cisgender
Poll ends at .

@snailerotica I am now questioning my gender and self

What if I identify as a human but I feel like the concept of being human makes other people so not human that they are further away from me from dogs?

@Ripp_ if you identify as human i would put that down as human. the in/humanity of others is beside the question, it's about how _you personally_ identify
@snailerotica unsure what to respond on the "human/nonhuman" here because i consider myself human in some sense, yet i am a therian of the feline variety.
@snailerotica @navi Same kind of thing with me, I kin robots strongly and get euphoric from being treated as one, but also consider myself to have human spirit.
@starlight @snailerotica @navi imo that counts as nonhuman. same thing as (not) being cisgender: even if you dont get dysphoria from it, if being human isnt what you see as optimal, you arent human

@starlight @navi @snailerotica in other words if youre fine with being a human but would rather be something else if given the option that something else is what you are

euphoria is a better indicator than dysphoria

@snailerotica For example, Wikipedia says alterhuman to this. This makes more sense to me.
Therianthropy is inherently still connected to humanity.
@snailerotica Half of us are human, how do we count that?
@snailerotica most likely a human, but feel somehow wrong about having to declare myself as such (like when it’s supposed to mean ‘not an LLM’)
@snailerotica damn. wheres the “does not apply” option

@snailerotica we are, perhaps, too autistic for this and are overthinking.

We are therian, and human, and at least one of us is a bunny.

@snailerotica ... Do I identify as human?
@snailerotica I’m a shapeless consciousness trapped in a human body and I don’t have a gender. not sure how to vote
@snailerotica I kinda want to answer 3...
@snailerotica Where does gender: dragon fit into this?
@snailerotica * I'm plural and some alters identify nonhuman and some alters don't identify as trans...
@snailerotica ... I am one of 17 people (so far) in this survey. That feels weird.
@snailerotica have been on the fence for a long time about humanity. i don't know that i can really say for sure either way
@snailerotica do part-time trans (genderfluid) beings count as trans for the purpose of this
@memdmp @snailerotica genderfluid is generally treated as being under the trans umbrella if nuance is not nessesary i think
@snailerotica neither. I am just a fucking human. Modell one. Base Feature set. Brain and stuff.
@snailerotica Maybe once my single lizard braincell hits a corner in my brain and produces a thought I will figure out the answer.
@snailerotica Hi! Letting you know I couldn't vote in this because there was no intersex option. Due to my intersex condition, I feel that the terms "transgender" and "cisgender" both fit me, and I can't choose which one I feel more like, because I'm equally both.
@snailerotica What about questioning alterhumans? Furthermore, where's the line drawn for trans or cis? Are non-binary people trans? Are, say, male to demiboy people trans?

@snailerotica nonhuman and don't really fit into the trans or cis categories, i don't think either of those fully describes me

i just. don't have a gender
-F

@snai`[email protected] non-human, and neither trans nor cis
@snailerotica I like that nonhuman, transgender is the biggest one at 700 votes.
@snailerotica

I love the way "nonhuman/trans" is the most popular option.
@snailerotica hm, in an idealized sense I see myself as a "foxgirl"
but like for all intents and purposes IRL I see myself as a human transfem
mind helping out on what to vote?
@snailerotica emmeline mostly creature it thinks, but the rest of the system human.
@snailerotica Identify is the wrong word for me, human is not an identity for me.
@snailerotica I voted non-human, cisgender, because I'm cis female yinglet in a trans femme human body.

wellp this thread is doing a good job at making me feel less alone for being the kind of genderless that doesn't see itself as trans or cis.

i just don't gender. at all. in any way. is that hard to understand?
that's a genuine question. i see a lot of acceptance of gender diversity here, but idk yo

you know how non-binary folks complain about sometimes being treated as "women lite"?
sometimes i feel like i'm trans lite to some of yall.

this is threaded but not pinging the op because i'm not trying to attack anyone here, just having a related thought

@crowk similarly while i do not see myself as genderless, i do not see myself as trans or cis either. i am cis to many people i know and trans to many others, i think this is good, i like being both and neither and all and one and the other and everything inbetween and around all at the same time. i would not consider myself mentally trans enough to answer trans, i would not consider myself cis enough to answer cis.

its similar with humanity. i think i am human, but i am also nonhuman. i like my human body, but i could also just as well have a machine as body and would also be happy with it and it would feel like my own in just the same way.

@crowk i am also decidedly not trapped in my body. i like it here, this is my body. but so would a machinelike body be, and i would like it and it would be my body. similar with my gender. i dont feel trapped in any way, but neither trans nor cis apply. i like having one foot in the door and one outside.

@crowk i am also both human (i am a human in body and mind and identity) and a thing (i am a thing in body and mind and identity) and a machine (i am a machine in mind and identity).

i would feel annoyed and possibly dysphoric if someone tried to push me into any of these boxes. i dont want to just be a machine. i dont want to just be a thing. i mostly dont want to just be a human (tho i prefer this option over the other two). i want to be everything.

@tudbut thanks for sharing, maybe it sounds weird to say about someone's description of their identity and how they understand it but i really like your perspective here! it rhymes a little with my idealized conception of gender abolition, where everyone's as gender as they want to be, and it means whatever they want it to mean. i respect it :7
@crowk if it sounds weird that is good. :P im very happy you like it!
@snailerotica human, cis, but both in the "i don't really feel a strong attachment to species or gender identity and this is the easiest path" sense
