I also have yet to experience an AI dev tool tell me, “I can’t do what you’re asking”. I wouldn’t mind stumping these things now and then.
@MrRooni I’ve never had an AI *tell* me it couldn’t do something. But not being able to do something happens often.
@MrRooni This problem also happens with human coworkers. Few people are okay saying they don’t know instead of making things up.
@MrRooni I’ve had Claude push back on certain things tho maybe more questions about shit than being able to code something or not. Claude tho tends to be higher rated for pushback too. It will give up on something if that counts too lol
@jfro I haven’t really used Claude much. I’m using Codex at home and Cursor at work. I did have Cursor resort to AppleScript the other day after the fifth time of me telling it the thing I wanted wasn’t working. 😄
@MrRooni yeah yesterday was fighting with it blaming my windows laptop for why something wasn’t working. But turns out it wasn’t entirely wrong lol. Fucking hybrid GPU setups suck. For whatever reason I still prefer Claude over the others tho
@MrRooni I have gotten that quite a few times, and it has pleased me. (I think it's more often been "I really can't predict a very reliable outcome here, and I know you're the expert, maybe you should do this one yourself". But that's good too!)
