@Daojoan I agree that individual responsibility is important. But for large-scale projects, coordination is essential. Coordination means communicating about the task at hand. These tools can streamline that communication if we agree that you can simply assign a task to me without having to call a meeting. You can use these tools effectively if you always keep in mind what the other person needs to continue working as smoothly as possible.

Yet this model became increasingly regimented. Ultimately, it came under criticism because employees had no freedom to make decisions, but only the “freedom” to follow their superiors’ goals.
