My recent win - being successful in persuading a friend who only reads self-help books to start reading fiction.

Not only did he love reading fiction, and says he'll never go back to self-help, he also said he is going to persuade his other friend (who only read self-help) to try fiction.

Big win indeed.

@jijin I think that reading fiction is generally better for helping the self, than reading self-help. At least in my experience. Some of the fiction, that's questionable as to whether it's better but it's not worse.

@jijin although reading will not widen your context as much as interaction with people in person, I think reading fiction you enjoy *is* self-help.
