Apple & ads. These are no help to the user. Half the screen is filled with an ad (and rumours suggest the ads will soon be less differentiated). Search for one thing and you get another. The PCalc search is absurd here – a very specific name yet it’s not even visible. (It would be without the ad.)

@craiggrannell and theres NO reason Apple should be running ads in the store. None at all. They're making way more than enough out of their premium, premium product. Ads just cheapen that and exploit the user.

But Apple no longer care.

@tinmouth Thing is, it’s very hard for Apple now it isn’t charging every dev *checks notes* 30%. Or something.

*cough*

Um.

@craiggrannell seeing a betting ad when searching for a utility app is 🤮
@craiggrannell Shouldn’t there be a big gambling awareness notice next to the betting advert?
@BenCotterill But then you wouldn’t spend any money and Apple likes money. On the plus side, when you eventually find PCalc, you can use it to tot up your losses.
@craiggrannell such a sad thing to happen.

“Ads! We think you’re gonna love ‘em!”
