OK! Toyota is ready to fight!👍🏿

Everyone looks at the number of cars that are sold in China each year, and begins to salivate. Their eyes turn to dollar signs!🤑

Then they get in market, and realize how much quality and value you need to pack into a tiny price.🤯

It's harder than spaceflight!

You can't just sell someone a basic, mid-level car for $60,000, and then expect them to put $5 a gallon gas in it every month. That only works on Americans that don't know any better.🤡

You have to sell someone a great car that they never have to put gas in, and that only costs $18,000.

@mekkaokereke AND it has to be easy to park.

I'm at the gate of my workplace. It's a secondary school for 1000 kids. Staff: 120 including nonteachers. Private parking spaces: zero.

@mekkaokereke Toyota makes a great car. I've had a Prius PEV rental for the last three weeks, and it's even more fun to drive than my OG Prius. And here we are in a stupid war with another petrostate after watching the federal government spend all of 2025 nerfing fossil fuel alternatives. Fuuuuuu
@mekkaokereke
Germans too. 😔

@iamlayer8 @mekkaokereke

German carmakers utterly failed to meet this moment. All they can think of is more government handouts to keep the ICE car market in Europe going for a little longer while they downsize.

@juergen_hubert
Well, they also heavily push pro-fossil propaganda directly and indirectly.

Too bad they'll drag many of their suppliers with them into the grave >:(

@iamlayer8 @mekkaokereke

@mekkaokereke I'm sure Elon will have the great idea to add gas tanks to Teslas! Imagine the invention potential here: instead of boring, cheap electricity using this high-flammable expensive gazoline! I mean, it's expensive, it's gotta be better, no?
@mekkaokereke @ligasser he’ll wait on that until he buys an oil company. X-on?
@mekkaokereke All I want is a nice electric sedan/hatchback that isn’t made by a fascist. Take out the outrageously expensive ones and there’s approximately two available in the US. 😞
@mekkaokereke It helps to buy the government first, so you can give the peons no choice. Also, it helps to heavily subsidize the industry, at least until all the competition is gone.
