I’ve started doing figure drawings again after summer break. Trying to wrap my head around oil pastels, it’s a fun medium but still quite unfamiliar. I hope to be able to get some grip with it. I plan to start another reply thread with my weekly efforts on this.

@[email protected] I literally have a lot of respect for the way you perceive color and know how to work with it! Whenever I try my hand at color graphics, the result ends up either very dark or dark and flat… Btw Thanks for your opinion🩷

@eiga.graphic ah I See :) yeah, making a transition to color is really tough, it took a long time for me to wrap my head around it as well (not that I am that great at color now anyways)
I think what helped me was embracing grayness. Meaning looking and searching for unsaturated grays and browns and working my way up from there. Chroma is a whole dimension of color and keying it right can help tremendously.
Also, when taking the pure color value, cools like blue and green get dark fast.
